We can all have the "Luck of the Irish"

IT’S YOUR LUCKY DAY!

With St Patrick’s Day comes the term “The Luck of the Irish”. Where did that phrase originate? Really, the"Luck of the Irish" was referred to as BAD luck, as Irish history documents. We found that the origin of this irony goes clear back to Old Ireland and the migration to America. However because of a slip in a newspaper unlucky became LUCKY! And it was then that the LUCK of the Irish changed.

Discover all the Irish idioms that we celebrate in this fun children’s book, “S is for Shamrock. We love that it rhymes for the young and teaches in a fun and interesting way from A to Z.

To add a little surprise to "your lucky day" put a little shamrock in your glass of milk. The kids will love to find a little "luck" and watch their milk change to green!

Don’t forget the day isn’t over so to bring some “luck” to dinner we thought these placemats would be oh so easy for the kids to make. Let them embellish as much as they please!

All you need is a two foam sheets, glue, and whatever else you want to add. We added a little glitter to our Shamrocks.

Another fun and easy project are these name plates also made from leftover foam.

What is a holiday without a yummy treat? We decided to make Gelatin Pinwheels. They are delicious but the“luckiest”part is how easy they are. You can find the recipe on the Kraft website. We hope it ends up being “YOUR LUCKY DAY” as well!
