Our Last Minute Lucky Charm

Everyone's going green for the next couple of days and your kids are going to want to wear it too.  This is a quick and easy idea for a LUCKY CHARM.
 All you need is:

a t-shirt (an old one is just perfect)
 some green fabric paint
 paintbrush
 a piece of freezer paper
 an iron.

We printed off a shamrock image.  You can also draw your own.

Cut out the image with an exact-o-knife or tiny scissors out of the freezer paper.

With shiney side down iron the freezer paper with the imagine cut out of it onto the t-shirt on a cotton setting. Make sure all the edges are ironed down to avoid the paint seeping.

Paint the image with your fabric paint.  Start from the edges working into the center.
Let it dry and peel away the paper.

We added a little pinch proof to the bottom.  And they'll be LUCKY all day!

We were lucky to find this one!

We thought we were LUCKY when we found this creative product that encourages children to brush their teeth!  They still have to do the brushing but it has a timer that helps them to brush longer and makes it fun!  There are several different options to choose from. We're confident you will find one you love.  We found this product on Amazon, but you might also check local children's stores.

We can all have the "Luck of the Irish"

IT’S YOUR LUCKY DAY!

With St Patrick’s Day comes the term “The Luck of the Irish”. Where did that phrase originate? Really, the"Luck of the Irish" was referred to as BAD luck, as Irish history documents. We found that the origin of this irony goes clear back to Old Ireland and the migration to America. However because of a slip in a newspaper unlucky became LUCKY! And it was then that the LUCK of the Irish changed.

Discover all the Irish idioms that we celebrate in this fun children’s book, “S is for Shamrock”. We love that it rhymes for the young and teaches in a fun and interesting way from A to Z.

To add a little surprise to "your lucky day" put a little shamrock in your glass of milk. The kids will love to find a little "luck" and watch their milk change to green!

Don’t forget the day isn’t over so to bring some “luck” to dinner we thought these placemats would be oh so easy for the kids to make. Let them embellish as much as they please!

All you need is a two foam sheets, glue, and whatever else you want to add. We added a little glitter to our Shamrocks.

Another fun and easy project are these name plates also made from leftover foam.

What is a holiday without a yummy treat? We decided to make Gelatin Pinwheels. They are delicious but the“luckiest”part is how easy they are. You can find the recipe on the Kraft website. We hope it ends up being “YOUR LUCKY DAY” as well!
